Baseball Caps are like cars, gloves, and cookies. Although they are made from the same mold, machine or dough, no two are exactly alike. Caps are made in the factory and are usually sized on a wood sample of the circumference of a head size. Well depending on the temperature and humidity, the wood could expand or shrink just a hair. That could be the difference in a size 7 or 7 1/8 cap. Sense what you order is what you get, here are some tips on how to get the right size of a cap.
- When in doubt, order the bigger size. You can always shrink the cap at least a size by putting it in the dishwasher.
- Buy a flex fit cap, they generally cover a couple of sizes. There is more give to them than sized.
- If you buy sized caps for a team or organization, buy extra’s! No 2 caps fit the same exactly the same so order a couple of extra’s on your original order. Cap companys’ minimum order is usually between 6-12 caps so ordering the 2 extra one’s early will save you money in the long run.
Sizing apparel is especially tough for the younger set. youth baseball pants can be especially tough. Women’s baseball pants can also be a challenge although we like Mizuno Women’s Sliding Compression G3 Shorts
