Ode to AROD

Do you believe in miracles?
I do because Alex Rodriguez just won a baseball game with a game winning hit for the New York Yankees. As a life long Yankee fan, I have been through winning seasons ending with Championships and first round playoff defeats. Through it all, the one constant has been the Captain of the Yankees Short stop Derek Jeter. A man in my opinion is not only the face of the Yankees but the straw that stirs the drink. He is the table setter, the person you want to see at the plate when you need a clutch hit. He deserves to wear Pinstripes just as much as the Yankee Legends that came before him years ago. Derek Jeter is still the Captain and will be as long as he continues to wear the famous New York uniform.
These days it is a different team though, the days of role players are not as important as they used to be. Well at least the Yankees thought that in the last couple of years. They brought in high priced talent year after year only to make the Playoffs and then get beat out in the first round. This year could be different though, the best player in the game viewed by many is Alex Rodriguez and he could be a free agent if he chooses too. He can leave the baseball capital of the world and go to a place with less stress if he wants. I believe he will stay, why would he leave? He just won a game with a hit, I take that back it was a grand slam. Alex, love him or hate him is possibly the best player in the game. Yet one of the most hated especially by true Yankee fans like me. Maybe its time to change my tune on this guy, he did switch positions for the good of the Yankees. The true fan in me thinks its just easier to dislike him but I think its time to give him a chance.
From here on out I am an AROD fan! He did win the game today for us.
